2009 College Football Attendance – Week 11

November 19, 2009

Here are the top 5 stadium attendance figures from college football this past weekend (home team listed first):

1)  Penn State vs. Indiana:  W, 31-20  (107,379)

2)  Ohio State vs. Iowa:  W, 27-24  (105,455)

3)  Georgia vs. Auburn:  W, 31-24  (92,746)

4)  LSU vs. Louisiana Tech:  W, 24-16  (92,584)

5)  USC vs. Stanford:  L, 55-21  (90,071)

If I missed something let me know.  This is the sixth week in a row that a Big Ten team has been first on the list.  All of the games were fairly close except for the beatdown that USC got from Stanford.  This weeks cheerleader offering has to go to Stanford for their performance vs. the fifth largest crowd in the country!

South Dakota State Jack Rabbit Winning Mascot Awards

November 5, 2009

Uhhhh…who??!!  Don’t forget to stop by Capital One’s Mascot of the Year site to vote.  There are only 2 weeks left to help your favorite advance.  The top 8 then advance to the playoffs.  Currently, Jack Rabbit from South Dakota State is in the lead, although all mascots but two have more total votes than him.  I’m not saying this contest is rigged, but something odd seems to be going on here.  Click HERE to vote.

Reader Submissions (Nike Shocker/FSU/Jenn Brown)

November 3, 2009

Reader Submissions is something I’d  like to do a few times a week where I share pictures that blog readers have sent in for me to share with everyone.  I am not biased so if you have a picture that you think is cool, chances are I will as well, and then I’ll post it.  What am I looking for?  Pictures of crazy fans, sexy female sports fans, funny shirts, funny signs, cheerleaders, etc.  What are you waiting for?  Send pictures to:  info@thatfan.com

Our first picture of the day comes from Jeremy in Oregon, who just so happens to be the same fan I pointed out that was throwing the shocker behind Lee Corso as he hopped on the motorcycle at Gameday (click here for the video).  Jeremy found That Fan and was also kind enough to send this beauty of a Kodak moment of him throwing the shocker up with Nike founder Phil Knight.  I prefer to call this one the Nike Shocker…Great work Jeremy!

The Shocker: Just Do It!

The next picture comes from Danny in Cincinnati, and is his version of this week’s “Our Cheerleaders are Hotter”.  He apparently is a Florida State fan, and although they may be having some issues with their head coach, they don’t look to be having any issues with their cheerleaders.

The last picture of the day comes from Nate in Louisville, and is actually a picture I’ve been meaning to get around to posting anyway, so a big thanks to Nate for reminding me.  What would a day at That Fan be like without some Jenn Brown?  Dull.  Very dull.  With no further delay, I give you Jenn Brown’s Halloween costume from this year:

November 2, 2009

ESPN’s College Gameday will be held in Colorado Springs this week at the site of the match-up between Air Force and Army.  Shortly thereafter I will have pictures up of the best signs throughout the broadcast so be sure to stop by the blog and check them out.  If you will be at Gameday this weekend, please send me pictures of signs and I will be sure to post them and give you credit.  I will also be holding another contest similar to the contest ran last week for any fan that can give That Fan a shot-out on a sign this weekend.  More details to come this week!

College Football Attendance – Week 8

October 27, 2009

Here are your top 5 stadium attendance figures from college football this past weekend (home team listed first):

1) Michigan vs. Penn State: L, 35-10 (110,377)

2) Ohio State vs. Minnesota: W, 38-7 (105,011)

3) LSU vs. Auburn: W, 31-10 (92,564)

If I missed something let me know. This is the spot where I normally will congratulate the fanbase with the top attendance, but since Michigan lost to Penn State, and because I was a little harsh on Penn State last week, I will provide a public apology to the Nittany Lion family through the following:

College Gameday in Eugene Oregon This Week

October 26, 2009

ESPN’s College Gameday will be held in Eugene, Oregon this week at the site of the big-time match-up between USC and Oregon.  The broadcast will be done at Autzen Stadium, the site of this week’s game between the two top-10 ranked PAC-10 teams.

Gameday has visited Eugene twice before:

9/29/07:  #6 California beat #11 Oregon 31-24

11/3/07:  #4 Oregon beat #6 Arizona State 35-24

Shortly thereafter I will have pictures up of the best signs throughout the broadcast so be sure to stop by the blog and check them out.  Saturday is also Halloween so if there are any interesting costumes I will try and post pictures of those as well.  If you will be at Gameday in Oregon, please send me pictures of signs and/or costumes and I will be sure to post them and give you credit.  I will also be holding a contest for any fan that can give That Fan a shot-out on a sign this weekend. More details to come this week!

Our Cheerleaders Are Hotter – Miami Style

October 24, 2009

Joseph from Miami sent me an email BEGGING me to put this picture up and represent “The U”.  Being the great blog host that I am, I couldn’t turn it down.

Miami Cheer

Readers: send in a link or a picture to a random hot cheerleader from your favorite team (okay, any hot cheerleader will matter even if you aren’t a fan of the school, that’s not really the point) and I will post them for all to enjoy.  To submit pics, leave a comment with a link, or email them to info@thatfan.com…so hurry up and get on it.
